What is Yoga Therapy?

Yoga therapy is a type of therapy that uses yoga postures, breathing exercises, meditation, and guided imagery to improve mental and physical health. Each session is focused on the needs of the individual client and the best way for them to be supported. The holistic focus of yoga therapy encourages the integration of mind, body, and spirit.

During a Yoga therapy session, Theresa takes her time to assess each client through listening, questioning, and observing. As a Therapist, she looks for ways to help clients reduce or manage symptoms, improve function, and help them with their attitude in relation to their overall health. After assessing a client, Theresa establishes appropriate goals and develops a practice intervention designed to guide them back into harmonious balance. This practice intervention is thoroughly explained and can include: meditation as medicine, breathing techniques, yoga postures, sacred sound through mantra, sound therapy, energy therapy, guided imagery, as well as other healing techniques.

Theresa Banks is a certified through the International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT). She draws from her knowledge of Hatha Yoga and Kundalini Medicine. Yoga Therapy Session are approximately 90 minutes ~ $144.00
A minimum of 3 sessions are recommended.
