Sound helps to facilitate shifts in our brainwave state by using entrainment. Entrainment synchronizes our fluctuating brainwaves by providing a stable frequency which the brainwave can attune to. By using rhythm and frequency, we can entrain our brainwaves and it then becomes possible to down-shift our normal beta state (normal waking consciousness) to alpha (relaxed consciousness), and even reach theta (meditative state) and delta (sleep; where internal healing can occur).
Sound healing also has the capability to facilitate a deep connection with the soul. We are constantly searching for ways to fill the gap between the self and its truth. Often we fill the gap with drugs, sex, alcohol, social media, gossip, food, etc. only to find that our temporary relief triggers a greater need to connect …. Using sound to release this tension of disconnect is non-harming, non-addictive, greatly effective, and when combined with a yoga/meditation practice can cultivate a natural state of harmonious wholeness.
What is Sound Healing?
Sound healing is an age old practice of using vibrational instruments (i.e. gongs, healing bowls, tuning forks, voice) on and around the body to create a deeply relaxed state where healing can occur on many different levels.
Stimulates the body’s natural healing abilities
Relieves muscle aches/joint pain
Relieves mental tension
Calms central nervous system
Stimulates creative mind
Aids in dropping the body and mind into a meditative state
What happens during the sound healing session?
These sessions are one-on-one and generally begin with gentle breathwork and setting intention. You will rest fully clothed on a massage table while sound practitioner uses sound instruments to relax the body and move stagnant energies within the body. The session may also include a component of vocal release through humming or vibrating mantra. Each session is about 1 hour which includes time to rest and recalibrate in this released state.
1 hour session ~ $108

“You can look at disease as a form of disharmony. And there’s no organ system in the body that’s not affected by sound and music and vibration.”
